A second chance

Assalamualaykum warahmatullah wabarakatu,Bismillah Hirah'manir Raheem.
Allahuma Sali'ala sayidina Muhammadin nabiyil ummi wa 'Ala ali wa sahbihi wa salim.

I pray that the readers of this blog are in good health and Imaan. Ameen.

A few days ago many A-level students based in the UK received their results from exams over June and May. Alhamdulilah the statistics showed that this year was the highest for pass rates so far. I was one of many to receive my exam results, however I didn't do too well as I had hoped in one of my modules. I tried to give it my best in the exam hall, however I missed the grade I wanted by a few marks; many of you may be thinking, "what's the big deal with a few marks?" Well, I guess there isn't really a big deal as it could have been a few grades lower or worse a fail. I can re-take the same module in January 07' and study harder to get the grade I want, so all in all it works out well for me. Alhamdulilah.

Reflection of it all...

In life we are faced with ups and downs, however we always seem to have a chance to recitify what we have done wrong, or in this case improve on ourselves as long as we are living. It is at times like these where we realise how lucky we are to have opportunities to become better at doing something, so that we may become better people fisabililah. Is it not due to Allah subhana wa ta'ala's infinite Mercy that this happens?

Everyday we are blessed with new and new things and we are not in deserve of all of it. He subhana ta'ala has given us so much and it is through His Mercy only that we are fortunate to have these things. He gives us a happiness, a warm home to come back to everyday, a loving family who support us through our hard times, friends who are there to advise us, wealth to live life in comfort and luxurt, food in our stomachs, a good education, 100's of clothes of most which we do not even need, a car to take us to wherever we please, books to knowledge ourselves with, lighting so that we may see during the dark hours, alarm clocks to wake us up at the right time...subahana'Allah the list is endless! Every where I look I am filled with things that are there due to Allah's blessings, but yet do we thank Him enough for everything? How hard do we try to become closer to Him, to please Him?

We are all sinners yet we are given so much Mercy from Him, and what for? We haven't done anything to deserve His mercy, the extent of His Mercy is so..Subhana'Allah, I'm lost for words. Seeing the situation of those who are faced with war and famine and poverty, we are extreeemely fortunate to be where we are.
Allah says in the Holy Qur'an:
"But ye turned back thereafter: Had it not been for the Grace and Mercy of Allah to you, ye had surely been among the lost. " [Qur'an 2:64]

How true these words are! We are so fortunate to be from the Ummah of Rasululah salialahu'alayhih wassalam, we have been given the Qur'an complete as a book of guidance, yet how often do we turn to it for quidance?
Subhana'Allah, this world is full of Allah's Mercy, we do not even have to look hard enough. It is all there on a plate, but yet it is just 1% of His subhana wa ta'ala's mercy.

We are sinners to the end, everyday we commit sins knowingly and unknowingly, yet it is through the Mercy of Allah that He forgives us and brings us closer to Him. It is by His Mercy that we are able to postrate to Him 5 times a day-if not more. Subhana'Allah, it shouldn't take me or anyone to remember through an exam grade the extent of His mercy; it should be evident everyday just by waking up alive in the morning. Or even by looking around in the world.

Moral of the post? There is none, except that Allah is the most Merciful and that we are subject to His undying infinite Mercy and we are the fortunate ones. Subhana'Allah!
Forgive me to the incosistency in this post but there are no words in this post that do justice to describing Allah subhana wa ta'ala's attributes and mercy. Like Veiled Knight said, saying Allah is the Most doesn't cut it, He is Higher than high. Subhana'Allah.

Our Lord! Cause not our hearts to stray after Thou hast guided us, and bestow upon us mercy from Thy Presence. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Bestower. Ameen wa thuma ameen.

Duaas kindly requested.
Wassalamualaykum warahmatullah.
